P e d r o  C a s t r o - D i r e c t o r

Pedro was born and raised in Northwestern Spain where he grew up surfing and playing roller hockey. At age sixteen he figured it was time for a change so he headed over for the U.S leaving behind friends and family. While studying an AA in Film/TV at Orange Coast College, Pedro began working on sets slowly moving up the ladder. Among the many jobs he worked on during those years was the Oscar winner documentary “The Last Days” which was Executive Produced by Steven Spielberg. He later attended Loyola Marymount University graduating with a Major in Cinema and a Minor in Art History.

Soon after, he became a D.P working with some the best directors in the field. In 2006 he won the Best Music Video of the Year award at the MTV Music Video Awards with Panic at The Disco and the Best Music Video of the Year award at the MTV Music Video Awards Latin America with Mana. He was also nominated 4 times for the Best Music Video of the Year award at the Latin Grammys. And finally, after many nominations, he won the Best Music Video of the Year award at the CMT Awards in 2011 with Taylor Swift.

A keen eye for storytelling and his relentless charisma made Pedro’s transition into directing a very organic process. Having spent so many years behind the camera gave him the quality to observe and listen and that is what he does best. In 2015 his work was nominated once again at the Latin Grammys this time for Best Long Form Music Video of the Year.

“Being a director/cinematographer is a very intimate process in which one is both the creator of stories and their visual composer.”
